About Carolyn D. Greene

I am a clinical psychologist licensed in New York and Massachusetts specializing in two main areas. One of my areas of specialty is providing psychotherapy for pregnant women and mothers. In my practice, I  treat depression and anxiety during pregnancy and the postpartum period.

My other area of expertise is the treatment of PTSD and other trauma-related conditions due to a variety of adverse, traumatic life experiences. My practice includes working with trauma related to military service, childhood abuse, birth trauma, and other experiences.

I am grounded in a psychodynamic approach, which means that I help clients identify and resolve unfinished business from their past and work to reduce its hold on them. I also use a broad range of methods to tailor therapy to the goals and needs of each individual, including EMDR therapy, a highly effective, well-researched trauma treatment. I will work collaboratively with you to meet your treatment goals.

I completed Postpartum Support International's 2 Day Certificate of Completion Program as well as PSI's Perinatal Mental Health Advanced Psychotherapy Training Course. Additionally, as a mother of two young boys, I can personally relate to the uniquely challenges of this demographic and phase of life.

My education and experience includes:

  • B.A., Psychology, Barnard College of Columbia University (2007)

  • Psy.D., Clinical Psychology, Yeshiva University (2013)

  • Predoctoral Internship, New York University, Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation (2014)

  • Postdoctoral Fellowship, Department of Veterans Affairs

  • Staff Psychologist, Department of Veterans Affairs (2014 - 2020)

I currently provide telehealth outpatient mental health services to individuals in New York and Massachusetts and have owned my own private practice since 2020. I invite you to reach out if you are interested in learning more about my practice!
